Milagro bracelets a hit with Allen, Texas students who make and sell them

Jennifer Evans didn't realize that when she attended Acteens at the First Baptist Church in Allen, Texas that she'd walk away forever changed.

"Sohnne Hill spoke to our group about the Milk Money Project and its efforts to feed hungry children in Mexico," said Evans, vice president of Allen High School's Student Council. "I was moved by her talk and wanted to get involved. When she mentioned the milagro bracelets, I thought that would be a great project for our council's community service committee."

Jennifer gathered up the supplies and asked her committee members to help her make bracelets. They happily agreed after learning that the proceeds from the sale of the bracelets would benefit the women and children of Casa Hogar de los Angeles in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

Committee members busily built the leather bracelets with silver milagros, knowing that they'd be worn by hundreds across the country. But first they decided to sell them to their classmates at Allen High School.

The bracelets were a hit! They quickly sold out, forcing the committee members to make more.

"We didn't mind," confessed Evans. "This has been an awesome experience. I look forward to seeing what kind of wonderful things God has planned for this project."
